Add inventory items to a job or invoice

Every job, quote and invoice has a Line Items section: this is where you attach the parts and labor you're billing for, and Servicebay uses it to calculate the subtotal, tax and total automatically.

  1. Open the job's Line Items card

Open the job, quote or invoice you're working on and find the Line Items card.

  2. Add a part or a service from your catalog

Tap the Inventory Item button (marked with a +) to add a part, or the Service button to add labor. Search or browse the catalog and tap what you want. It's added with its saved price and a quantity of 1.

  3. Add a one-off item that isn't in your catalog

If what you need isn't saved yet, tap One-Time Inventory Item (or One-Time Service) from the picker instead. Give it a name and price. It's added to this job only and isn't saved to your catalog.

  4. Adjust the quantity

Use the stepper next to any line item to change its quantity. The subtotal, tax and total update as you go.

  5. Apply a discount (optional)

Tap Discount, choose Fixed or Percentage, enter the amount, then tap Apply.

  6. Remove a line item

Tap the x on a line item and confirm Delete to take it off the job.

  7. Turn it into a quote or invoice

Once your line items are set, tap Create Quote or Create Invoice at the top of the card to carry everything over automatically.

  8. Tips

Line Items, Quotes and Invoices are part of Servicebay's Pro plan (included free during your trial). If you're on the Basic plan, you won't see these on a job. Editing an item's price or quantity on a job only changes that line item. It doesn't touch the original item in your Inventory or Services catalog.
