Track stock and low-stock items

Servicebay can keep a running count of how many of a part you have on hand, and flag anything running low so you know what to reorder before it holds up a job.

  1. Turn on Track Stock for an item

Open the part in Inventory, turn on the Track Stock switch, and tap SAVE. This is a per-item setting: leave it off for anything you order on demand or don't want counted.

  2. Set the current stock count

Once Track Stock is on, a Stock Count field with a plus/minus stepper appears. Set it to how many you actually have on hand right now.

  3. Keep the count up to date

Adding a part to a job doesn't automatically reduce its stock count. Servicebay records that as a separate line on the job, not a deduction from your catalog. After you use stock on a job, open the item in Inventory and update Stock Count yourself so your numbers stay accurate.

  4. Check your Stock Value and Low Stock totals

Go to Reports, then open Services & Inventory. The Stock Value card shows what your on-hand stock is worth, and the Low Stock card shows how many tracked items need restock.

  5. Review the Low Stock list

Below the leaderboards, the Low Stock section lists tracked items running low, showing how many are left for each, fewest first. If everything's well stocked, it tells you so instead.

  6. Tips

Only items with Track Stock turned on are counted anywhere in stock reporting. Inventory and its reports are part of Servicebay's Pro plan (included free during your trial).
